21st Annual Fraser Island K’gari Clean Up
Friday 20th – Monday 23rd May 2022

7am – 11am – Event check in at Eurong beachfront.
Club Trip Leader to provide all club volunteers check in documentation. 

First, find your allocated campsite & set up camp, then you have the day at leisure to explore beautiful K’gari.

Saturday 21st of May 2022

7am – 11am – Event check in at Eurong beachfront.
Club Trip Leader to provide all club volunteers check in documentation.

8:00am – All clubs and volunteers who nominated to do their beach clean today are to be at their designated cleaning area.

Trip leader to brief volunteers on OHS requirements and to verify all volunteers are wearing mandatory PPE garments. Your trip leaders will have issued you with rubbish collection bags, and will have briefed you on the system for collecting waste and the requirement to capture weight of all collected waste, plus counting the total number of bags delivered to the designated waste collection station. Let’s get Cleaning!

Other club groups not doing their beach clean today enjoy the day at leisure or explore beautiful K’gari.

Sunday 22nd of May 2022

8:00am – All clubs and volunteers who nominated to do their beach clean today to be at designated cleaning area.

(It is important that clubs cleaning today start early so that they can get to Cathedrals on Fraser in good time to relax with clubs who cleaned on Saturday)

3.00pm – Volunteer thank you afternoon / evening at Cathedrals on Fraser.

Raffle tickets and merchandise available for sale. sponsor displays, and an evening meal catered by A Camp Oven Experience by Michael Patch, Tangaroa Blue announce waste statistics and it’s just a great opportunity to mingle with sponsors and other volunteers.

5pm – Dinner commences (children to be fed first).

5.30pm – Clean-up waste statistics.

6:00pm – Raffle ticket sales close and the Island raffle draw commences.

7:00pm – Event wraps up, clubs to travel back to camp or stick around and have a drink with the FICU committee & 4WD QLD management committee.

 

Monday 23rd of May 2022

All volunteers and sponsors pack up and commence departing Fraser Island – only leaving behind your footprints. See you all again in May 2023!
